Bugatti Tourbillon
Bugatti has introduced its latest model, the Bugatti Tourbillon, a high-performance hybrid with an impressive price tag set to replace the $3.3 million Bugatti Chiron, known for its 1,500 horsepower.

Despite industry trends towards all-electric vehicles, the Bugatti Tourbillon remains a plug-in hybrid. Mate Rimac, CEO of Bugatti Rimac (the result of Bugatti's 2021 spinoff from Volkswagen Group and merger with Rimac), emphasized the company's commitment to maintaining the essence of mechanically powered Bugatti cars. The new model boasts a massive 16-cylinder gas engine developed in collaboration with British race car engineering firm Cosworth, augmented by three electric motors— one in the rear and two in the front— capable of delivering at least 800 horsepower individually. The total power output of the Bugatti Tourbillon is projected to exceed 1,800 horsepower.
Unlike the Chiron's turbocharged engine, the Tourbillon's engine is naturally aspirated, without turbochargers. The decision to forego turbochargers was a deliberate choice by Rimac and his team to enhance the car's performance.
The interior design of the Tourbillon pays homage to traditional mechanical machinery, with the name itself inspired by a gear system in mechanical watches. The instrument display mirrors the look of mechanical watch dials, and the central speedometer features two hands, akin to a clock, with one indicating speed and the other registering engine revolutions per minute.
While the Tourbillon includes a large display screen with Apple CarPlay, Bugatti has opted for it to remain hidden until requested by the driver, a departure from the brand's previous aversion to visible screens to ensure a timeless design. Rimac emphasized Bugatti Rimac's focus on creating products that will stand the test of time.
Production of the Tourbillon will remain exclusive, with only 250 units to be assembled at Bugatti's factory in Molsheim, France. The starting price for the Bugatti Tourbillon is approximately $4 million.
